The Ostrich Doctrine…
While an ostrich does not really bury its head in the sand, as the saying goes, the current Biden Administration certainly does. And it seems this has been the theme of every democrat administration since Jimmy Carter. Bury your head in the sand and pretend it isn’t happening. Hopefully, the danger will pass without incident. But if it doesn’t, they have the mainstream and social media at their disposal to spin it. It is the foreign policy of the left – The Ostrich Doctrine.
In 1979, the Iranian militants stormed the American Embassy and held over 50 Americans hostage. Carter buried his head for more than 400 days. The Clinton Administration ignored the ’93 World Trade Center attack and the rise of Osama Bin Laden. When Clinton had the opportunity to take Bin Laden out, he buried his head and balked. Under Obama, it was Benghazi. After being briefed in the early hours, what was his response? Bury his head, go to sleep, and then take Air Force One in the morning to Nevada for a fundraiser. Today we are once again watching the left exercise the Ostrich Doctrine in Afghanistan. Biden is in hiding until his handlers get enough information to draft a memo for his speechwriters. Then and only then will he pull his head out of the sand long enough to read the teleprompter. This level of incompetence and inaction is not just a slap in the face to every single American service family that sacrificed one of their own (enough in and of itself). It is a threat to American national security. The misfits in Washington are putting the nation’s safety and security at risk. From our southern border to the Middle East, every American should have serious concerns.
All of which points to the importance of the 2022 elections. We are at war for the soul of our country, and that is not hyperbole. America, which has prided itself with an abundance of people willing to die for their country, is on the verge of becoming one perfectly willing to let the country die for its people. We have a put-America-last foreign policy and a blame-America-first domestic policy. Our border is disintegrating, free-market capitalism is disappearing, and foreign adversaries are handed ground tens of thousands of Americans fought and died to hold. All the while, an entire political party is determined to destroy American exceptionalism. And what’s worse is that too many feckless Republicans are on the sidelines.
We are indeed at war, and war requires warriors if you want to win. We must take action to restore God as our moral lawgiver, protect the traditional family unit and reject the godless philosophy of the cultural Marxists, or America’s best days will be in the rearview mirror…VoteMerk.com
